Tassa Avara lives in West Monroe, Louisiana. She is a Christian and attends Cheniere Baptist Church. Her husband of nearly thirty years, Brian, is a Realtor and business owner. They have two sons. Her youngest son, Brent, is a Realtor and the music minister at Tassa’s church, and her oldest, Drew, serves in the U.S. Marine Corps. She loves singing, the outdoors, hiking, and observing God’s beautiful creations. Using her passion for writing and art, she desires for her stories and illustrations to educate children on moral character and respect for themselves and others, along with enrichment in culture, animal characteristics and habitats, and hopefully encourage a love for reading. Tassa is a second-grade teacher at Boley Elementary school in West Monroe, Louisiana. She holds a master’s in curriculum and instruction from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, and has been teaching for thirteen years.
